
Lockton tempts captives exec out of retirement in Singapore
Lockton has unveiled Martin Allain (pictured), an executive with a background in alternative risk transfer and captives, as head of wholesale, based in Singapore.
Allain has returned to the workforce after a brief retirement to join Lockton Asia’s Regional Placement Team as head of wholesale. He will report to Piers Hughes, head of placement – Asia.
Allain began his career with Marsh UK, focusing on North American business before becoming the head of Marsh’s International Wholesale Operation in London. In 1995, he joined Reinsurance Australia Corporation as property underwriting manager.
Since relocating to Singapore in 2003, Allain has held several senior roles, including managing director for Facultative Business for Asia Pacific at THB Singapore, where he oversaw reinsurance, wholesale, and direct client placements. He later joined Howden’s wholesale broking team in Singapore in 2015.
His expertise covers a wide range of specialty lines, including alternative risk transfer and captives.
