Nevada’s Division of Insurance bets on new captive head

The Nevada Division of Insurance has announced that Michael Reynolds (pictured) has been promoted to senior management analyst effective July 20. 

In a statement the Division of Insurance said: “Reynolds will lead our Company Admissions and Captive Insurance sections. He has served the State of Nevada since 2009 and joined the Division in 2023.  Most recently, he earned his Associate in Captive Insurance from the International Institute for Captive Insurance Education.”

"I am grateful for this opportunity for personal growth and to serve the State of Nevada and the insurance industry in a greater capacity,” said Reynolds.

Reynolds joined the division in October 2023 as a management analyst I. He was promoted to management analyst II in April 2025.

Prior to that he was a program officer I at the Silver State Health Insurance Exchange from September 2022 to October 2023, where he worked on the interpretation and application of state and federal regulations, policies and guidelines, which dictate the eligibility of consumers for health insurance offered on the Exchange.

He was previously a compliance / audit investigator at the Office of the Labor Commissioner for the State of Nevada from August 2021 until September 2022.
