AM Best has announced that it will be holding its next analytical briefing on the topic of the state of the US captive insurance market.
The briefing will be on Tuesday, 4th August, 2026 at 10am ET.
AM Best’s senior analytical staff and a panel of insurance experts will discuss the issues shaping the captive insurance market, including financial results and the business environment for captives and related alternative risk transfer (ART) organisations.
Topics will include:
• AM Best’s review of performance trends for rated captives
• Benefits afforded to ART owners and members
• How enterprise risk management flexibility is utilised by captive owners within the parent organisation's framework
The briefing will be moderated by John Weber, senior associate editor at AM Best, and the panellists will include Kourtnie Beckwith, senior financial analyst, AM Best, Christine Brown, deputy commissioner, Captive Insurance Division, State of Vermont, Ian Davis, president of the Vermont Captive Insurance Association and Sharon Marks, director, AM Best.
