AF Specialty hires Ian Podmore to expand captives presence

AF Specialty has appointed Ian Podmore as director of captive operations. Podmore focuses on business growth and profitability for new markets and business opportunity development through the use of insurance captives and is based in Charlotte, North Carolina. 

Eric Halter, managing director of AF Specialty, welcomed Podmore’s expertise, innovation and leadership, which he said will help the group expand its product offerings and presence in the captive space.

Podmore has more than 30 years of insurance experience in the US, Bermuda and the UK. He was most recently head of captive underwriting and a captive consultant at Willis Towers Watson. 

AF Specialty, part of AF Group, focuses on providing fronting capacity to insurance carriers, managing general agents, reinsurance intermediaries and captive managers.
