BrentRe appoints SVP

Broker Brentwood Reinsurance Intermediaries (BrentRe) has appointed William Hodson as senior vice president (SVP).

Hodson will broaden the range of reinsurance products and capabilities offered through BrentRe.

His focus is on placing servicing specialty lines reinsurance for traditional carriers, programme-oriented business produced through managing general agents, and alternative risk reinsurance placements for captives and risk retention groups.

Hodson joined BrentRe from USA Risk Intermediaries, the reinsurance intermediary platform for USA Risk Group.

He began his reinsurance career with the GL Hodson & Son after an internship for reinsurance training with CE Heath and two syndicates at Lloyd's of London. There he focused on specialty lines reinsurance, programme-oriented business involving managing general agents and alternative risk reinsurance for captives and risk retention groups.

He has also previously worked for Axiom Re and also helped establish Goss Re/Advocate Re in Dallas, Texas, where he used his expertise to help form and grow its alternative risk reinsurance and specialty lines ‘programme’ reinsurance capabilities.
