Pro Global boosts compliance capability with new appointment

Pro Global has appointed Jessica Robinson as senior compliance consultant, strengthening the compliance advisory and assurance capability within its global Audit & Advisory practice.

Pro Global said that Robinson brings extensive insurance compliance experience to the role, with more than 15 years’ experience across regulatory compliance, conduct risk and insurance operations. She has worked across a range of insurance businesses, including UKGI and Hastings Direct, and is also a board member and investor in ONO, a specialist fleet incident management business, giving her additional insight into the operational and technology challenges facing the insurance sector.

According to the company her appointment comes as compliance teams face a widening brief. Consumer Duty remains firmly embedded in the regulatory agenda, while operational resilience, the rapid adoption of AI and questions around effective human oversight are creating new areas of scrutiny for insurers, MGAs and other regulated businesses.

Rather than treating these as separate regulatory exercises, Pro is seeing increasing demand for specialist advice that connects compliance requirements with the reality of how insurance businesses operate day to day.

In her new role, Robinson will work with clients across Pro’s Audit & Advisory practice, supporting businesses to assess conduct risk and the effectiveness of their compliance frameworks, identify weaknesses early and translate regulatory requirements into practical controls and sustainable improvements.

Robinson is also returning to Pro, having previously worked with the business as a compliance consultant earlier in her career. Her appointment brings her previous knowledge of Pro together with the broader perspective she has developed through senior roles across the market.

Pervin Sivanathan, group head of audit & advisory at Pro Global, said: “Conduct risk is an area where clients increasingly want much more than a review of whether the right policies and procedures exist. They want to know whether controls are working in practice, whether they are delivering the intended customer outcomes and where emerging risks could create problems further down the line.

“Jessica brings a strong combination of specialist conduct-risk knowledge and practical insurance experience. At a time when firms are working through Consumer Duty, the growing use of AI and questions around effective human oversight, that ability to look across regulation, operations and customer outcomes is extremely valuable.

Robinson said: “Compliance is most valuable when it is close enough to the business to identify an issue before it becomes a finding, a customer problem or a remediation exercise. That is particularly important now, as firms deal simultaneously with changing regulatory expectations, increasingly complex supplier ecosystems and the introduction of AI into operational and decision-making processes.

“Human oversight is a good example. It is relatively easy to say there is a person in the loop; the harder question is whether that oversight is genuinely effective – whether the individual understands what they are reviewing, has the right information and authority, and has the ability to challenge or intervene when something does not look right.

“That practical, insurance-focused approach to compliance and assurance is a big part of what attracted me back to Pro. I’m looking forward to working with Pervin and the wider team to help clients turn regulatory expectations into effective, sustainable practices.”
