CICA 2015 to focus on captives’ strategic advantages

The Captive Insurance Companies Association (CICA) 2015 International Conference is set to explore the strategic advantages of captives across a wide range of business needs.

Over 20 educational sessions will take place at the event on March 8-10 at the Loews Royal Pacific, Orlando, Florida.

The session, ‘How to Understand and Get the Most Out of Your Actuarial Report ‘, will demystify report terminology and help identify underutilised information. It is also aimed at bettering understanding of how organisations can use the actuarial report information for strategic risk management.

‘Healthcare Captives…Survival of the Fittest’ will focus on how to build better healthcare captives, how to assess which risks to add and understanding the regulatory impact of the Affordable Care Act.

Case studies will be used in the ‘Using Captives to Corral Credit & Political Risk’ session to illustrate how risks are identified and addressed, including how captive utilisation can enhance long-term risk management goals.

“Attendees will see our theme Captives: The Strategic Advantage is clearly addressed throughout 23 educational sessions.  Those sessions will identify innovative uses of captives to enhance and strengthen business performance,” said Dennis Harwick, CICA  president.
