CICA re-elects chair

The Captive Insurance Companies Association (CICA) has re-elected Scott Beckman as chair of the board of the directors.

Beckman is vice president of claims at ISMIE Mutual Insurance Company in Chicago, Illinois, which is Illinois’s largest medical liability insurer.

Prior to that, he was vice president of risk management and insurance for Advocate Health Care Network.

The CICA board of directors also elected Michael Bemi as vice chair of the CICA board. Bemi is president and chief executive officer of The National Catholic Risk Retention Group and is president of its wholly owned subsidiary management company, National Catholic Services.

Joel Chansky, a consulting actuary and a principal with the Boston office of Milliman, was elected as secretary/treasurer.

Fredrik Finnman, Steven McElhiney, and Robert Myers were elected to the CICA board of directors.
