CII cancels Cayman Captive Forum in December

Cayman International Insurance (CII) has cancelled the Cayman Captive Forum in December 2020 due to the uncertainty around the COVID-19 pandemic.

CII cited the economic downturn, border closures and current state of the hospitality industry in Cayman as challenges that made it impossible to plan a physical conference this year.

CII said it is “working to provide content to IMAC (Insurance Managers Association of Cayman) members and others in the form of webinars or virtual events later this year.” The details of these alternative virtual arrangements are still being worked out.

The conference is expected to go ahead as normal in 2021. CII confirmed it is already in discussions with the Ritz Carlton, Cayman, where the event is traditionally held, about next year’s event.
