DCIA to hold members-only conference


The Delaware Captive Insurance Association will host a conference on October 15 at the Hyatt Place Wilmington Riverfront, exclusively for its members.

Steve Kinion, director in Delaware’s bureau of captive and financial insurance products, will host an interactive discussion about current and potential issues relevant to Delaware captives, including: conditional licensing; the criteria used to establish whether captives qualify as insurers, developed by the US Supreme Court in the Le Gierse case; captive regulation of premium pricing and rate regulation; Federal captive insurance issues; examinations; and audience Q&A.

Member organisations are invited to bring three employees, with a nominal charge of $50 for each additional employee attending,

The event begins at 2:30pm with welcome remarks from Commissioner Trinidad Navarro. Appointments with the regulators will also be available prior to the regulator session, and must be booked in advance through Darlinda Moffett at  Darlinda.moffett@delaware.gov.

Kinion’s session will be followed by a networking reception .
