Dentons hires insurance regulatory partner

Dentons, the global law firm, has appointed John J. Sarchio as a partner in the insurance regulatory practice.

He advises clients on captive programmes and self-insurance, insurance industry mergers, acquisitions and financings, reinsurance transactions and insurance regulatory consulting and compliance.

Sarchio will be resident in the Firm's Miami and New York offices.

Sarchio's insurance-related transactional experience includes insurance company demutualisations, reciprocal conversions, bank-insurer affiliations and mutual insurer mergers, as well as insurance securitisations, catastrophe bond transactions, reinsurance sidecar transactions, XXX/AXXX reserve financing transactions, and other insurance-linked securities transactions.

He represents insurance industry clients in regulatory matters before the state insurance departments of Florida and New York, and has advised a variety of industrial, financial services and professional services firms on their directors and officers (D&O) and professional liability insurance programs.

"We are pleased to welcome John to our insurance practice. His strong transactional experience provides additional depth to our insurance team while complementing our highly regarded regulatory and insurance litigation practice," said Mike McNamara, US managing partner at Dentons.
