Dentons hires partner with captives experience in New York

Dentons, the law firm, has named Nick Williams as partner in the corporate practice.

Williams was formerly co-head of a global insurance practice and has assisted clients on a range of insurance-related matters, including captive insurer formations, reinsurance, brokering, insolvencies, licensing and coverage issues.

He has nearly 30 years of experience in domestic and cross-border M&A transactions. He has also been involved in the development of Basel III–compliant insurance products that provide capital relief for global banks and other financial institutions, including numerous major US and international institutions. He has also been involved in various insurance-related capital markets and transactions, including initial public offerings, private placements, 144A and Regulation S offerings, primary and secondary equity offerings and contingent capital transactions.

Williams is based in New York and focuses on mergers, acquisitions and capital market transactions in both the property and casualty insurance, life and health insurance industries, and on emerging areas such as cyber insurance.

Mike McNamara, US chief executive officer at Dentons, welcomed Williams’ “expansive and impressive portfolio of experience spanning key areas of our transactional and insurance client focus.”
