DWF names partner to lead its non-contentious insurance advisory practice

DWF, the global provider of integrated legal and business services, has appointed Jonathan Drake as a partner to head up its non-contentious insurance advisory practice in London.

Drake was formerly head of insurance at Womble Bond Dickinson and has worked in the City for over 30 years. He has experience in private practice, having worked at Clyde & Co, Dentons and Ashurst, and has also spent more than ten years serving as an in-house general counsel in the insurance industry.

His expertise includes captive insurance, re/insurance policy wordings, run off and restructuring, cross-border and international advice, distribution, commercial agreements, compliance and conduct risk.

Claire Bowler, DWF’s global insurance sector head, said Drake “will help drive the growth of our work with insurance general counsel and risk and compliance teams, along with advising insurance boards on key areas for their business."

Drake said DWF has “a genuine strength and depth in both insurance and commercial services work, together with various different and innovative delivery models."
