Gallagher Re builds up its legacy capabilities with hire

Gallagher Re has named Andrew Rothseid as partner and head of legacy, a new role.

Rothseid has over 25 years’ experience in the global re/insurance industry, having worked exclusively in the global legacy market during that time. He was previously principal and owner of RunOff Re.Solve, a specialist provider of turnaround, restructuring, and advisory services. He has also worked as a commercial trial lawyer and served as general counsel of US and Bermudian property and casualty run-off insurers and reinsurers. He was also a partner at PwC, responsible for the US insurance restructuring practice.

Rothseid remains in the US and reports to Matt FitzGerald, managing partner of specialty at Gallagher Re.

FitzGerald stressed Gallagher Re’s commitment to building up its specialist capabilities, and welcomed Rothseid’s “vast experience in global legacy business, run-off advisory and resolution,” which “will serve as a fantastic complement to our existing structured solutions capabilities.”
