Guy Carpenter hires global risk MD for Europe and MENA

Guy Carpenter, the reinsurance broker, has appointed Andrea Piatti as managing director in its Global Risk Solutions unit, covering Europe, the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).

Piatti is responsible for originating and driving opportunities in the customised reinsurance space across Europe and MENA. This includes structured reinsurance treaties, capital management and solvency-related transactions.

Piatti is based in Zurich and works alongside Guy Carpenter’s broking and analytics teams across the region. He reports to Frank Achtert, head of strategic advisory for EMEA, and Ronnie Carroll, managing director of Global Risk Solutions.

Piatti was previously head of European M&A at Armour Risk Management. He has also held senior positions at MS Amlin, Amlin Re Europe and Partner Re.
