HDI Global Specialty swipes Generali exec to lead assault on private medical insurance market

HDI Global Specialty SE has hired a new underwriter to lead its entry into the private medical insurance (PMI) market.

Ben Haden has over 20 years’ experience in the accident and health (A&H) market, having held various underwriting roles at AXA and Collinson Group. He was most recently at Generali Global Health where he was responsible for the global international PMI portfolio.

HDI Global Specialty’s move into international PMI is part of its longer-term growth plan which is designed to diversify its portfolio by product, geographical scope, production and distribution.

Kieran Morrin, HDI Global Specialty’s A&H underwriting manager, said: “HDI Global Specialty is on a path of significant controlled growth, and our A&H line is a key part of this.”
