Jay Branum joins Taussig Capital Holdings

Jay Branum, the former director of captives in the South Carolina Department of Insurance (SCDOI), has joined Taussig Capital Holdings as operating partner.

Taussig Capital is an advisory firm that works with asset managers, family offices, insurers, reinsurers, and banks.

Branum resigned from SCDOI at the start of October having worked there since 2013. He was credited with helping the state rapidly grow its captives offering, attracting more business in the process. By the time he left, the state was home to almost 180 captives, compared with around 120 when he arrived.
