Marsh appoints offshore and US captive practice leaders

Marsh Captive Solutions has appointed Julie Boucher to assume direct leadership of Marsh's Bermuda, Cayman and Barbados captive officers in the newly created role islands practice leader.

Concurrently, Chris Varin has been appointed to the role of US practice leader, assuming oversight of Marsh's US captive management offices.

Both of these senior leadership changes are effective January 1, 2019. They will report to Ellen Charnley, president of Marsh Captive Solutions.

Boucher currently served as the Americas practice leader, and will relocated to Bermuda from Vermont in her new position. She has over 30 years of experience in captive insurance, having served in a number of roles within Marsh.

Varin has 28 years of experience in a variety of roles that have included responsibilities in operations, technology and strategy. He will remain in Burlington, Vermont.

“Captive owners today are seeking world-class capabilities and advice to extract more value from their captives," said Charnley. "By aligning Julie’s and Chris’ experience and captive expertise to these critical regions, we will be better positioned to provide enhanced services and resources to our clients.”
