Marsh poaches co-heads of Willis Towers Watson’s US government contracting practice

Marsh has hired Steven Capace and Bryan Salek to co-lead its US government contracting practice.

Capace and Salek head a team responsible for the delivery of specialised transactional and advisory solutions that address the unique risks facing government contractors, including civil complaints, audits, legal actions, and administrative and regulatory proceedings.

Both appointments join Marsh from Willis Towers Watson where they were executive vice presidents and co-founders of Willis’ government contracting practice. Between them they have more than 50 years of experience in federal government contractor risk management.

Both are based in Washington DC and report to Jeffrey Alpaugh, Marsh’s US and Canada growth and industry leader.

Alpaugh highlighted the myriad of insurance, financial, operational, and legal risks faced by US government contractors, which he said require specialised expertise and unique solutions. Marsh’s new hires bring “unparalleled understanding of the government contractor industry,” he added.

Capace said: “More than ever, firms contracting with the US government require deep expertise and the latest specialist thinking on risk and insurance.”
