Moore Stephens unit to operate under BDO brand through merger

Accountancy and business advisory firms BDO and Moore Stephens have completed a merger agreement where Moore Stephens LLP - with offices in London, Birmingham, Bristol, reading ant Watford - will operate under the BDO brand.

The merger is aimed at enhancing BDO's ability to serve the financial services and insurance sector.

BDO suggested this deal had created the largest UK accountancy and business advisory firm focussed on mid-sized business.

The merged firm joins BDO's international network, which has 80,000 people and revenues of $9 billion.

“The strength of the BDO financial services division and its international network will assist insurers and brokers grow globally and meet the challenges of issues such as Brexit," said Alex Barnes, partner at BDO and former partner at Moore Stephens. "We are now the fifth biggest accountancy firm in the insurance sector with all the team from Moore Stephens LLP coming across and joining our new colleagues at BDO.”

The remainder of the Moore Stephens UK and international will remain unchanged by the deal.
