Rimac joins Maxis GBN

Peruvian insurance provider Rimac (Rimac Seguros y Reaseguros), part of the Grupo Breca conglomerate, has become a member of Maxis Global Benefits Network (Maxis GBN). It now provides medical and life cover to Maxis GBN clients in Peru.

There is a significant demand from multinationals for high quality medical provision in Peru and this new partnership will help ensure employers can offer the best possible care to their employees, Maxis GBN said.

Rimac saw premium income rise to $1.4 billion last year. It has over 4,000 business clients and offers digital service capabilities, particularly through mobile channels.

Maxis GBN was co-founded by MetLife and AXA and is one of the world’s largest employee benefits networks, working in partnership with 500 multinational clients and over 40 captives to deliver market leading services and solutions. With approximately 140 local insurance carriers with specialist capabilities in over 120 markets, the Maxis network covers over 3.2 million employees worldwide.

Gabriel Garcia, international business manager at Rimac, said: “In the employee benefits market, we are known for our strong product suite and underwriting capabilities, dedicated local teams and the competitive nature of our offering. Partnering with Maxis GBN will allow us to further enhance our capabilities and help care for the health and wellness of employees of some of the largest multinationals operating in Peru.”

Matthew Richards, director of member management at Maxis GBN, said: “We are an ideal cultural fit, as we both have a dedicated focus on investing in innovation, expanding and evolving our digital solutions to support our clients. Combining our global capabilities with Rimac’s specialist knowledge of the Peruvian market is a winning formula.”
