SIIA unveils more details of conference agenda


The Self-Insurance Institute of America has released more details of the educational program for its upcoming National Conference, which it said will feature many timely topics, industry experts, and general session speakers.

The format for the 2022 program has also been updated to encourage greater engagement among attendees.

Representatives from cell & gene therapy manufacturers preview what treatments are coming down the pipeline.

The conference will also feature the release of SIIA’s captive insurance industry survey results with related commentary. In addition executives from leading stop-loss carriers discuss how their companies are positioning themselves in response to emerging industry issues.

There will also be a talk on how captives are increasingly coming to the rescue to insure “uninsurable” risks, as well as the latest in digital health advancements and how this is improving care for an increasing number of self-insured health plan participants, how can stop-loss underwriting practices be improved through advancements in AI and machine learning.

SIIA’s government relations team will also update the conference on the latest legislative/regulatory updates.

To provide a more interactive experience, the program includes several “Engagement Accelerator” sessions with open discussion formats focused on specific topics. These will be “Powerpoint-free zones” where everyone will have the opportunity to be a speaker and engage directly with other attendees. Specific session topics will include:

  • Career Considerations in the Self-Insurance Industry (for younger attendees)
  • Regulatory Challenges and Solutions for Captives
  • Today’s Workforce Challenges
  • Adventures in NSA Arbitration Claims
  • Captive Industry Hot Topic Discussion
