SiriusPoint snaps up casualty underwriter with background in alternative risk management

SiriusPoint has appointed a new senior vice president (SVP) of casualty underwriting with a background in captives, alternative risk management and fronting, as well as casualty treaty reinsurance and runoff.

Larry Hallett joins from RFIB Americas where he oversaw business development and servicing intermediary operations for its North American operations. He has 40 years of experience in the North American re/insurance markets, having spent time at 2 Wings Risk Services as a reinsurance consultant and intermediary, specialising in alternative risk entities.

He started his career at the Constitution Reinsurance Corporation in New York, before moving to Western Atlantic Reinsurance Corp, Swiss Re and then XL Financial Solutions, in the latter role serving as senior managing director for the structured indemnity team.

At SiriusPoint Hallett reports to Warren Trace, head of US and Canada, Americas reinsurance. He is responsible for casualty underwriting, including traditional and structured reinsurance, and on strategic initiatives involving casualty insurance, and is based in the New York area.

David Govrin, global chief underwriting officer and president of Americas reinsurance, said Hallett is “widely respected in the property casualty reinsurance industry, building, executing, and managing portfolios of insurance risk.”
