The Doctors Company promotes executive to CFO and CRO

The Doctors Company (TDC) has promoted longtime company executive Marco Vanderlaan to chief financial officer (CFO) and chief risk officer.

He succeeds David Preimesberger, who assumes new roles as senior vice president for strategic planning and chief ethics officer.

Vanderlaan has held a variety of senior positions with TDC over a period of 18 years. He most recently served as senior vice president of business assessment, a role he held from 2010. Before that he held executive positions in finance, reinsurance and strategic planning.

Before joining TDC Vanderlaan was vice president of finance for Move and a senior manager with Deloitte.

Richard Anderson, chairman and chief executive officer of TDC, said Vanderlaan has demonstrated vision and foresight in mergers and acquisitions, enterprise risk management, internal audits, and its ethics program.

Vanderlaan said: "I look forward to growing the financial success, risk intelligence, and conservative business philosophy that empowers our mission to advance, protect, and reward the practice of good medicine."
