VCIA opens registration for annual conference

The Vermont Captive Insurance Association (VCIA) has opened registration this week for its 38th Annual Conference, taking place August 7-10th, at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Burlington, Vermont.

The VCIA said: “Captive beginners and veterans alike can go to vcia.com to register and ensure their spot at America’s biggest captive event, where they will enjoy productive networking, in-depth educational sessions and innovative business opportunities.

“Coming off a 96% approval rating from last year’s conference, #VCIA2023 intends to deliver similar satisfaction with a conference experience designed to maximize the attendees’ time. “

The association added that it expects to host a thousand captive professionals from throughout the US and around the globe.

This year’s conference will include 21 CPE/CRE/CLE-eligible educational sessions—3 more than 2022—with 6 interactive discussion groups on captive trends/emerging risks, covering the latest on cyber, inflation, reinsurance, medical stop loss, claims management, parametric coverage, Board engagement/strategic review, and so much more.

This year’s keynote speakers will be Juliette Kayyem, CNN National Security Analyst and former assistant secretary of the Department of Homeland Security; and Jeff Kreisler, head of behavioral science at JP Morgan and former stand-up comedian.

“VCIA2023 brings the absolute best to the captive industry,” said VCIA President Kevin Mead. “It will celebrate where the captive industry is, address its challenges, and gameplan for a thriving future for every stakeholder involved. If you’re engaged in the industry at all, coming to the VCIA Conference is a must.”
