Southern Marine to create San Francisco office
Southern Marine, a specialty program division within Starwind Specialty Insurance Services and an MGA within CRC Group, has hired Ly Iev as a senior underwriter to establish its San Francisco, California office in January 2025.
Iev has more than two decades of insurance broking experience. He began his career focusing on property and casualty lines of coverage and has spent the last 15 years focused strictly on marine placements. Prior to joining Southern Marine, Iev served as the marine practice leader for the west region of a global insurance brokerage company where he drove strategic initiatives and fostered strong client relationships.
His expertise encompasses risk assessment, market analysis, and tailored insurance solutions for diverse marine operations utilising national and global resources. He is a past president of the Marine Underwriters Association of Southern California and active member of the Association of Marine Underwriters San Francisco.
