
Stewart promoted to AIG’s head of captive management
Brenda Stewart (pictured) has been promoted to the post of head of captive management & advisory at AIG.
She replaces Robert Gagliardi, who was appointed as chief executive of SRS Titanium, a specialised initiative delivering captive insurance solutions for Fortune 500 and other global and complex organisations, in November 2025.
She was previously vice president - AIG Captive Solutions - captive management, having been appointed to the position in February 2003, based in Burlington, Vermont.
When vice president she provided a leadership role managing the professional staff that provide day to day management services to captive insurance client. She also serves as a director and/or officer for various captive insurance companies including cell captives, reciprocals, group captives and single parent captives.
Stewart is currently on Board of Directors of the Vermont Captive Insurance Association (VCIA) and in 2020 was the recipient of the VCIAs’ annual Captive Crusader award.
She was featured in Captive Review’s 2025 edition of Influential Women.
Prior to joining AIG in 2003, Stewart spent five years in the business software industry and 10 years in a non-profit organization. She has earned the Associate in Captive Insurance (ACI) designation from the International Center for Captive Insurance Education (ICCIE).
