The Tennessee Department of Commerce & Insurance (TDCI) has welcomed two new members to its captive insurance team.
Megan Merritt has joined as a captive insurance specialist. In her role, she will analyse the overall performance of assigned captives, as well as review and process any requests they may have. Merritt graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s degree in accounting from Trevecca Nazarene University in May 2025.
Ashley Dorsey has joined the team as a captive insurance specialist as well. She brings 15 years of auditing experience for the States of Georgia and Tennessee. She most recently spent 2.5 years auditing the Tennessee Opportunity Act in order to help ensure grant funds truly supported families on their path to stability.
In a statement the TDCI said: “We're looking forward to Megan and Ashley's deeper dive into captive insurance while growing into strong analytical assets for TDCI.”
