The Vermont Captive Insurance Association (VCIA) has issued another call for people to register for its captive roadshow in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on October 29.
The Philadelphia roadshow consists of an afternoon of captive insurance education followed by a reception for connecting with captive professionals and industry experts.
Speakers at the event include Kevin Mead, the chief executive of the VCIA, Sandy Bigglestone, deputy commissioner at the Vermont Department of Financial Regulation Captive Division and Brittany Nevins, Vermont Captive Insurance economic development director.
The roadshow will focus on the strategic advantages of captives. The VCIA said that attendees would learn the fundamentals of captive insurance companies: why they form, feasibility process, and ways to meet the challenges in creating a healthy captive program. The seminar will spotlight two different types of captives with leaders who will share their insights and tips on successful captive formation.
Presenters will also discuss why Vermont is the leading captive domicile in the US, and why Vermont is considered gold standard, as well as what makes it a prudent and highly rated domicile for a captive insurance company. Attendees will come away with a thorough understanding of the cost structures and capital requirements associated with captives, the VCIA said.
