Zurich launches new risk services unit in the UK focused on climate change, supply chains and cyber
Zurich UK has launched a new risk services unit, Zurich Resilience Solutions (ZRS), to help businesses manage emerging and evolving risks more effectively.
ZRS is part of Zurich Insurance Group’s broader efforts to meet growing demand for risk prevention and mitigation services. It combines risk advisory services and insights with technology and third-party collaborations. In the UK it includes the risk engineering team and makes services available to both Zurich customers and those with no existing relationship with the carrier.
It offers services related to climate change, supply chain and cyber risk management, as well as supporting customers across the full range of risks related to their lines of business, from property to occupational health.
Zurich vowed to continue building the unit’s capabilities by investing in new expertise, services and third-party collaborations.
Kumu Kumar, newly appointed head of ZRS in the UK, said Zurich’s UK customers want to expand their efforts to avoid risk, rather than only transferring it through insurance. “Many organisations suffer from a lack of relevant and reliable data and insights to help them manage and mitigate risk,” he said. “ZRS is designed to address this by providing businesses with both insights into the dangers they face, and solutions based on our expertise and unrivalled access to data.”
Globally, ZRS is led by Hanno Mijer, who has more than 30 years of experience in the insurance industry and has held various leadership positions in Continental Europe, the UK and Australia. Mijer joined Zurich in 2007 and most recently served as chief executive officer of its Cover-More Group.
Mijer reports to Sierra Signorelli, chief executive officer of commercial insurance, and is based in Zurich.
