Addresscloud eyes expansion with new appointment

Geocoding and property intelligence expert Addresscloud has appointed Peter Thompson (pictured) as non-executive chair.

The company said that as an established figure in the insurance sector Thompson will play a key role in steering Addresscloud’s continued growth and international expansion, shaping its strategic direction as the company scales to meet accelerating global demand for precise, building-level risk insight.

The firm said that Thompson brings extensive experience spanning broking, underwriting, and insurance technology. He currently serves as chair of Open GI and has held senior leadership roles across the insurance ecosystem. Addresscloud plans to expand its reach and strengthen its influence across the global insurance landscape.

Thompson will lead the Board and ensure effective governance while supporting Addresscloud’s executive team in delivering the company’s strategic goals. He will oversee performance against key objectives, ensure robust risk management and financial controls, and uphold the company’s culture, integrity, and values.

With its technology already deployed by major insurers across the UK, mainland Europe, and the United States, Addresscloud is now focused on scaling its data, AI capabilities, and global partnerships through 2026.

Thompson said: “Addresscloud has developed a truly differentiated technology, translating peril risk to the individual building level in real-time and delivering insight that underwriters, brokers, and reinsurers can trust. I’m excited to help scale this capability globally and build on the company’s success across the UK, Europe, and the US.”

Mark Varley, chief executive of Addresscloud, said: “Peter immediately pinpointed Addresscloud’s value proposition and how to scale it. With a proven building-level risk platform and global demand accelerating, his leadership will help us turn great technology into a great business.

“We are creating a new standard in peril risk assessment at the individual building level. Peter’s experience across broking and insurance technology, and his ability to forge strategic partnerships, make him the ideal Chair for our next stage of international growth.”
