Holmes Murphy strengthens in its Houston office

Holmes Murphy has hired Jason Mahler as head of consulting and actuarial services for Houston and Central Texas in its Houston office.

Mahler brings more than 15 years of experience consulting in all areas of group health and welfare benefit programs, including strategy and design, wellbeing, consumer-driven healthcare, plan financing, procurement, and delivery system transformation.

He was previously senior vice president of health solutions at Aon, working with employers on their long-term benefits strategy. He also served on internal teams, focusing on driving innovation and developing the next generation of healthcare solutions.

In his new role he leads consulting strategy, working alongside Travis Brashear, market leader, and Don Harrison, head of business development, to grow the local markets and collaborate with ACAP Healthworks on growth opportunities and new innovations.

Brashear described Mahler as “a true intellectual and an innovator in our industry.”

Mahler praised the “impressive team of health and benefits experts” at his new employer, adding: “I have worked in healthcare in Houston for my entire career, and the industry has never been more in need of creative and disruptive solutions.”
