New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu announced that Insurance Commissioner Christopher Nicolopoulos will not be seeking reappointment upon the conclusion of his term.
Nicolopoulous was nominated to his position by Governor Sununu in January 2020.
“I thank Commissioner Nicolopoulous for his service to the State of New Hampshire and the Department of Insurance,” said Governor Sununu. “Commissioner Nicolopoulos played a critical role in standing up New Hampshire’s first-of-its-kind voluntary Paid Family and Medical Leave Program, and has worked diligently to ensure the best premiums possible for policyholders.”
According to the Governor’s office of New Hampshire a search for a new Insurance commissioner will begin immediately.
In a statement the office of the Governor said: “Interested candidates should send a letter of interest and resume to Governor Sununu's Director of Appointments, Dee Jurius, at Deanna.E.Jurius@nh.gov.”
