New IMAC chair aims to branch out of Cayman

The Insurance Managers Association of Cayman (IMAC) has appointed Linda Haddleton, the managing director of Artex, as its new chairperson.

As she steps into this role, Haddleton suggested there are untapped industries and geographies that she believes IMAC can expand into.

“My goal is to focus on innovation for the sector and to diversify this domicile’s remit,” she said.

For the past two years, Haddleton served as vice-chair for IMAC, and prior to that served as chair of IMAC’s legislative and regulatory committee and before that as chair of IMAC’s education committee

“I have been a part of IMAC for decades and we are proud of the role we have played in Cayman’s development as a domicile for captives and other alternative risk transfer structures. I want to ensure this development continues well into the future,” she continued.

Haddleton has around 30 years of experience in the captive insurance space, having involved herself in the design, formation, implementation and management of Cayman captives and other re/insurance entities.

As managing director of the Artex Cayman office, she is responsible for managing operations such as the formation and management of captives, insurance-linked securities and other structured transactions.
