Vermont captive trade mission heads to Mexico
Representatives from Vermont’s captive industry are preparing to head to Mexico for a trade mission that includes a special event on 1 March with the Vermont Captive Insurance Association (VCIA).
The mission is designed to spread awareness and understanding of the role of captives, including those who do business in Mexico and Latin America.
“As the interest in captive insurance continues to grow among Latin American companies, the State of Vermont seeks to ensure that the captive concept is well understood and communicated, including the benefits of being regulated in a reputable onshore jurisdiction,” the VCIA explains on its websites.
A range of experts will discuss the basics of captive insurance companies, reasons for formation, the feasibility process and key issues in putting a successful program together. Speakers include Sandy Bigglestone, deputy commissioner for captive insurance and
Department of Financial Regulation. Vermont Captive Sandy Bigglestone, Vermont’s deputy commissioner for Captive Insurance, will be among those Christine Brown, director of captive insurance at Vermont’s Department of Financial Regulation; Brittany Nevins, captive insurance economic development director for the state; VCIA president Kevin Mead; and Michael Serricchio managing director of Marsh Captive Solutions in the US, and Alejandro J Santos, managing director, analytic and captive solutions for Marsh in Mexico.
“Looking forward to bringing the power of captive insurance and the VCIA to Mexico City!” Serricchio wrote in an update on LinkedIn.
