Arch hires AXIS chief risk officer

Arch Insurance International has hired Tom Rivers from AXIS Managing Agency, part of AXIS Capital, as its chief risk officer.

With more two decades’ experience in the industry, Rivers held the same position at AXIS, as well as London-headquartered Novae Group, which acquired by AXIS Capital for in 2017. Before that, he held senior actuarial roles with PwC.

Hugh Sturgess, CEO of Arch Insurance International, said: “Tom is a highly respected authority on risk management. His extensive experience in embedding robust risk cultures and using a holistic view of the landscape to guide strategic-level risk decisions is a welcome addition to our senior management team.”
