Barclays appoints international corporate banking head in Guernsey

Ian Cranidge has been named as head of international corporate banking in Guernsey, where he will be responsible for managing the company’s captive insurance and corporate client relationships.

Cranidge began his career with Barclays in 2002, working in the local business team in London. Since then, he’s served in various roles, including leveraged finance, sales finance and relationship director for power and utilities & infrastructure in global corporates.

In January 2018, he joined the private bank and overseas services business. He spent nine months based in New York, growing the offshore and captive business in North America, including on Bermuda and the Cayman Islands.

Most recently, Cranidge led the transport and logistics sub sector in Barclays Corporate Banking’s UK large corporate team.

Earlier this year, Barclays named Faisal Ansari as head of the newly formed corporate strategic solutions team at Barclays corporate banking in London, which oversees the captives business among other areas.
