Canopius hires WTW British COO

Specialty re/insurer Canopius Group has hired Kate Roy as chief operating officer. Starting in early 2022, she’ll report to Neil Robertson, deputy chief executive officer.

Roy has 33 years’ experience in the industry with brokers and carrier organisations, as well as an outsourced service provider. She joins from Willis Towers Watson, where she has been COO for Great Britain and Willis Ltd since 2015. She previously held senior positions at AIG and Capita Insurance Services.

Neil Robertson said: “Kate is hugely experienced across the gamut of global (re)insurance, with a firm understanding of our business and the markets we operate in. Kate will help shape our future operating model, and her energy and enthusiasm will be an asset to our positive, distinctive culture and will undoubtedly help us realise Canopius’s future ambition.”
