Guy Carpenter snares Aon’s former head of EMEA London to head its London Europe business

Guy Carpenter & Company has appointed a new managing director and head of London Europe as it looks to strengthen its offering across the continent.

Sebastian Cook leads the London-based teams focusing on European business and the newly formed European broking solutions team, which works with local European offices to build and execute customised reinsurance strategies.

Cook is also responsible for developing the firm’s catastrophe strategy across the European region and its approach to European reinsurer management, and directing its international RFP initiative. He reports to Massimo Reina, Guy Carpenter’s chief executive officer for Europe.

Cook was previously head of EMEA London and deputy chief executive for the Nordic and Baltic region at Aon, responsible for the production and servicing of large accounts across Continental Europe. He joined Aon in 2007.

Reina pointed to Guy Carpenter’s “expansive network of offices across Europe, delivering products and services that reflect the unique demands of companies in each country,” which he said would be strengthened by Cook’s appointment.
