Hawaii Pacific Health appoints Gregg Timmons to lead insurance and risk management
Hawaii Pacific Health (HPH), the not-for-profit healthcare provider, has promoted Gregg Timmons to executive director for corporate insurance and risk management. Timmons, who has been at the organisation for over five years, was director of risk management at Straub, one of the four medical centres that make up the network.
In his new role, Timmons becomes responsible for developing and administering the integrated risk management and insurance program for the medical centres, outpatient, ambulatory care clinics, and other clinical practice locations of HPH, which has over 7,000 employees and 1,500 doctors.
He also becomes president of Providers Insurance Corporation (PIC), HPH’s corporate captive and will oversee its claims function.
Timmons has almost 30 years’ experience in risk management, starting his career as in-house counsel and risks management advisor at the Department of Veterans Affairs in Louisiana. He then spent 15 years at AIG Risk Consulting, first as a healthcare consultant and later as regional consulting manager in its healthcare division.
