Vermont hits 1,400 captive licenses ahead of annual VCIA conference

Vermont has officially licensed its 1,400th captive insurance company—a milestone that reflects the strength, stability, and global reputation of Vermont as the premier captive domicile, according to the state.

In a statement on LinkedIn the official state website said that this achievement underscores the continued confidence organisations place in Vermont’s regulatory excellence, industry expertise, and commitment to innovation.

“Thank you to the dedicated teams at the Vermont Department of Financial Regulation and our many partners across the industry who help make Vermont a world-class home for captives,” the LinkedIn statement said.

The news comes two weeks before the Vermont Captive Insurance Association’s annual conference in Burlington, Vermont, which will be attended by many members of the captive community, as well as representatives of the Vermont State Government.
