I-RE adds to Bermuda leadership team

I–RE, the specialist captive insurance and reinsurance underwriter, has strengthened its leadership team in Bermuda with the appointments of Simon Long as managing director of I–RE Ltd and Charles Kittrell in underwriting operations.

Long joined I-RE nine years ago, and was prior to this promotion the firm’s operations director and Kittrell has been an analyst at I-RE for nearly seven years.

Announcing the appointments, the company said these would “mark a key moment in the company’s evolution.”

The company has plans to expand both underwriting and commercial capabilities in 2026, “deploying technology to bring its teams and its broker and captive manager partners closer together.”

Andy Jeckells, co-founder of I–RE, said: “I–RE has reached an exciting moment. We have a proven product, strong broker and captive manager relationships and growing demand from an increasingly diverse base of clients. These appointments reflect our confidence in the future and the next phase of our growth. Our priority now is to invest in people, technology and collaboration to make this happen.”
