Ian Davis joins People’s United Bank to build up captives business
Ian Davis has joined People's United Bank (PUB) as senior vice president and captive insurance relationship manager, responsible for business development and relationship management across the bank's captive insurance portfolio.
He works alongside Mary Santor, senior vice president at PUB, who has spent more than 30 years growing the captive insurance business.
Davis was most recently director of financial services at the Vermont Department of Economic Development, where he led marketing and business development activities in support of the state’s captive insurance industry.
Before that he spent two years as economic development policy specialist, growing the department’s strategic initiatives. He began his career in the public sector, directing policy research, before moving into external relations and business development roles.
Michael Seaver, Vermont division president at PUB, pointed to the bank’s long history of expertise in the captive arena. “As we look to further enhance services and support for our captive clients, we are fortunate to have [Davis] join us to lead our captive insurance division and bring his expertise to our clients,” he said.
Davis praised PUB’s strong reputation in the captive industry. “I am eager to apply my knowledge and networks to achieving our goals,” he added.
PUB’s treasury management and wealth management teams provide support to captive insurance clients, including investment management and tailored cash management and commercial card solutions.
