ICCIE celebrates 600th ACI graduate

The International Center for Captive Insurance Education (ICCIE) in Vermont has awarded its 600th associate in captive insurance (ACI) accreditation. Launched in August 2004, it requires individuals to complete nine courses and three standalone webinars. There are currently 1,500 individuals who have begun the ACI or taken courses towards the designation.

The milestone comes as the ICCIE announces two new courses, the first it has launched in several years. Details of the courses, which will begin late this year and early next, will be announced in the coming months.

It also coincides with the launch of a new scholarship commemorating Jeff Kehler. The former captive program administrator for South Carolina and director at Somers Risk Consulting died in January. Somers Risk Consulting will sponsor a full ACI scholarship to ICCI, beginning this year.

Kehler taught two courses and codeveloped one at the ICCIE and had a “passion for education”, the organisation said in a statement. “We all know that Jeff would be delighted with this development.”
