Risk Strategies hires litigation and claims expert as professional services VP

US specialty insurance broker and alternative risk program provider Risk Strategies has hired Kevin McGrath as vice president for professional services.

McGrath brings 17 years’ experience representing and advising professional services firms. He was most recently vice president for licensed professional claims at Berkshire Hathaway, where he led a claims team and assisted across a wide variety of firms to resolve professional liability errors and omissions claims.

McGrath was also a claims manager for Beazley and has worked for law firms Gogick, Byrne & O’Neill in New Jersey and Ingram Yuzek Gainen Carroll & Bertolotti in New York. He has ten years of litigation experience representing architects, engineers, accountants, and law firms in transactional and litigation matters.

“Kevin brings a valuable perspective to the underwriting, claims, and litigation aspects of risk management,” the company said in a statement announcing the hire.
