Kelly Castriotta joins Markel as senior director of global cyber underwriting
Kelly Castriotta has joined Markel Corporation as senior director of global cyber underwriting, becoming the lead underwriting project manager for Markel’s US non-affirmative cyber project.
Castriotta has spent more than ten years of re/insurance experience, spanning product innovation, underwriting management, inhouse claims consulting, and coverage litigation. She previously served as head of cyber underwriting and product development for financial lines at Allianz, where she led non-affirmative cyber mapping and implementation in North America. She has also held underwriting and claims positions with Arch Insurance and worked for CNA Insurance as a claims attorney.
Castriotta reports to Kara Owens, managing director and global cyber underwriting executive, and is based in Chicago. She works closely with cyber leaders to strengthen cyber underwriting best practices and standards across all its insurance divisions, providing guidance on product development and enterprise risk management initiatives.
Owens said Castriotta’s expertise “will enhance our cyber underwriting capabilities, aid new product development across our divisions, and help to assist us in enterprise risk management.”
