Leadership shake-up as Robus plans next phase of growth
Captive and insurance services firm Robus has announced a shake up of its leadership team a year after its acquisition by the Ardonagh Group in December 2020.
Steve Quinn has been appointed group executive chairman following the departure of Richard Le Tocq at the end of 2021. He joined Robus as chairman in 2020 from Premier Insurance Company, where he was managing director. He was previously a managing director for Artex Risk Solutions and also spent 17 years with Lloyds TSB in several senior roles.
“We are incredibly grateful for Richard’s efforts in the last few years at Robus,” said Quinn. “Under his leadership, Robus has diversified its product offering, made hires to key positions, rebranded and, of course, become part of the thriving Ardonagh Group. He leaves Robus stronger than he found it.
“Looking forward, I have been working with Richard and our Ardonagh colleagues to build a plan which harnesses our collective strengths to launch and execute a successful growth strategy which builds upon the recent successes of Robus Group. The first step has been implementing a more robust Group leadership team to oversee our operations.”
Paul Cole, director of Gibraltar, meanwhile, has been appointed Robus chief operations officer. He joined Robus in August 2021 after over 13 years with Artex Risk Solutions. He will be responsible for simplifying Robus’ operational foundations and maximising the use of services to help deliver an enhanced client experience.
Finally, Ronan Ryan will take the position of chief commercial officer. Since joining Robus from Allied Risk Management in August 2020, he has led some of Robus’ wider development projects across the group in Malta and Dublin. He will be responsible for developing its insurance management proposition across all domiciles.
