Marsh & McLennan Agency appoints its first chief marketing and sales officers

Marsh & McLennan Agency (MMA), the middle market subsidiary of Marsh, has appointed Steven Handmaker as its first chief marketing officer and Trindl Reeves as its first chief sales officer.

Handmaker has led Marketing and Communications for Assurance, MMA’s Midwest region hub, since 2004, and was appointed chief marketing officer in 2013. He was appointed chair of the Council of Insurance Agents & Brokers’ committee on marketing and communications in 2015.

Reeves joined MMA - then legacy agency Barney & Barney - in 2006 and has been the chief sales officer of its West region since 2010. She previously served as managing director for Marsh’s offices in Newport Beach and San Diego, and as the regional sales leader. She was also responsible for creating a women’s initiative, GROW, to increase female representation and leadership within the organisation.

Handmaker is based in Schaumburg, Illinois, while Reeves is based in San Diego. Both report to Bill Jeatran, president of MMA.

The new, national roles will help drive organic sales and marketing capabilities across MMA’s more than 130 locations, the company said, while expanding the services provided to acquired agencies and producer hires.

Jeatran called the pair “proven leaders who understand the increasingly complex needs of our clients.”
