Marsh names Colraine as chairman of its UK business
Marsh has named Tom Colraine as the chairman of its UK business with immediate effect.
Colraine has been a non-executive director of the business since 2018 and succeeds Jane Barker. He was previously chief financial officer of AIG Europe from 2010 to 2014, following his time as chief operating officer of AIG UK, and non executive director and chairman of the audit committee between 2007 and 2009.
Before joining AIG Europe he worked for Willis Group Holdings for nearly 20 years between 1988 and 2007, holding several senior leadership positions including chief financial officer, vice chairman, and co-chief operating officer.
He is an experienced non-executive director, having served as chair of Hastings Group Holdings and the Compre Group boards, as well as chairing the audit and risk committee of the wealth management division of Schroders.
Chris Lay, chief executive officer of Marsh UK and Ireland, praised Colraine’s “significant contribution to the business since joining the board of directors in September 2018,” and welcomed his “extensive expertise and insight of our industry and the regulatory environment.”
Colraine said: “Since joining the board, I’ve been impressed by how Marsh continually strives to deliver ground-breaking solutions that help clients of all sizes and sectors mitigate risk and continue to thrive. This is especially evidenced by the support offered to clients, colleagues, and communities during the COVID-19 pandemic.”
