McElroy named as Aon’s head of Bermuda casualty

Aon has appointed John McElroy as head of casualty in its reinsurance solutions team in Bermuda.

McElroy has 30 years of industry experience, and was previously executive vice president of global insurance at Allied World Assurance Company. He has also served as senior vice president and head of the management liability department at Gulf Insurance Company.

He will report to Tony Fox, chairman and chief executive officer of reinsurance solutions in Bermuda. The appointment is subject to Bermuda immigration approval.

Andy Marcell, Aon’s chief executive of reinsurance solutions, said the appointment is “one of a number of steps we are taking to assess and mitigate existing and emerging casualty exposures on behalf of our clients.”
